The town of Tequila, Jalisco, is best known as the birthplace of the popular spirit. In fact the name “Tequila” is limited to products distilled from agave grown solely in this region. See more photos of the Jose Cuervo Distillery and the rest of the town of Tequila in our gallery.

I toured the region with Spirit of Jalisco Tequila Distillery Tours (www.spiritofjalisco.com). It was incredible! They are a really top notch organization, and have access to all the best distilleries and personnel, plus their guide, Clayton, knows everything and everyone in the industry. This is an experience you can find on your own. I higgghhhly recommend them
